Index Status

Check the status of an indexing request started with index_chess_games. Returns the current status (PENDING/PROCESSING/COMPLETED/FAILED), games indexed so far, and any error message.

Index Chess Games

Index a chess player's games for tactical motif detection and ChessQL queries. Fetches games from chess.com, replays positions, and detects pins, forks, skewers, discovered attacks, checks, checkmates, promotions, and more. Single-month requests complete synchronously; multi-month requests run in the background — check progress with index_status. Once indexed, use query_chess_games and aggregate_chess_games.

Returns the requested user's chess.com player stats

Chess Com Players

Returns chess.com player information (including title, if any) for a batch of up to 50 usernames in one call. The response maps each lowercased username to its profile; unknown usernames are listed under not_found.

Chess Com Games

Returns the requested user's chess.com games for the specified month and year. For example, username: hikaru, year: 2025, month: 01. Games can be filtered by time_class, color, rated, rules, and opponent. Bulky pgn/tcn fields are omitted unless include_pgn/include_tcn are set.

Analyze Position

Detect tactical motifs (pins, forks, skewers, discovered attacks, checks, checkmates, promotions, ...) in a single PGN without indexing it. Returns the detected motifs with per-move occurrence details.

Aggregate Chess Games

Count indexed games grouped by one or more fields, filtered by a ChessQL query (index first with index_chess_games). This answers questions like 'most popular openings' in one call: for one player's openings, query 'white.username = "hikaru" OR black.username = "hikaru"' with group_by ["opening_family"] — both sides, or you count only the games they had white. The filter may scope time with date comparisons ('date >= "2026-07-01"') or 'month = "2026-07"'; date and month filter the indexed corpus
