Category List

List the available recipe categories, alphabetically. Returns up to 50; the taxonomy is curated and small. Use this before recipe_create, which refuses a category that does not already exist.

Ingredient Search

Search the ingredient catalogue by name, case-insensitively. Use this before recipe_create to reuse existing ingredient names instead of creating near-duplicates. Returns up to 10 matches.

Recipe Create

Create a new recipe, and any ingredient it needs that does not exist yet. Requires a write token: this is the only non-read-only tool on this server, and calls without a valid token are refused. The recipe is created as a DRAFT and is not visible through the public API until an administrator publishes it. Limits: at most 50 ingredients and 50 instructions, and at most 5 previously-unknown ingredients may be created in a single call — use ingredient_search first to reuse existing names. The cat

Recipe Get

Get the full detail of a single published recipe by its slug, including ingredients and step-by-step instructions. A draft slug is reported as not found.

Recipe Import From Url

Extract a recipe from a web page so it can be reviewed and then passed to recipe_create. This tool only reads: it stores nothing. It requires the same write token as recipe_create, because it makes this server fetch an external page. Only https:// URLs on the server's import allowlist can be fetched, and only pages that publish a schema.org/Recipe as JSON-LD can be read — there is no HTML scraping fallback. Recipe Search

Search for recipes by keyword, matching against title, description, or category name. Returns up to 5 published matches; drafts are never returned. Use recipe_get with a slug from the result for the full detail.
