Optimise a cut list
Work out how many boards a list of parts needs and where each part sits on each board. Real rectangle packing with saw kerf and grain direction, not an area estimate — an area estimate is always wrong because offcuts are not reusable in the shapes you need. Returns the board count, the layout of every part in mm, and the occupancy percentage.
Read a cut list out of a photo, scan, PDF or CSV
Transcribe a cut list from an image or document with a vision model: handwriting, a phone photo of a scribbled sheet, a supplier PDF, a spreadsheet export — behind a read permission of its own, which /mcp/info reports. Returns the parts it read AND the questions it could not answer — treat those questions as real: the numbers on a handwritten sheet transcribe reliably, the intent behind the headings does not. READING IS NOT OPEN to MCP callers on this service: this tool will refuse. Read the she
Find a cuttable board in the Uniboards catalogue
Search the boards Uniboards actually cuts to size, by name, decor, thickness or size. Returns the board sizes to feed optimise_cut_list, and whether the board has a grain direction. Our own decorative panels (ribbed, fluted, slatted) are sold whole and are not cut to size, so they do not appear here. Each variant carries price_gbp — the same ex-VAT board price the website shows. Board price is not the job price: use price_cut_plan once you know how many boards.
Turn a plan into a file for a workshop
Take the plan optimise_cut_list just returned and produce the file a workshop actually uses: a PDF to print, or a DXF for a CNC router. Returns the file as base64 with its name — hand it to the customer as an attachment rather than trying to describe it. This does NOT re-run the engine: it draws the plan you already have, so the file always matches the numbers you quoted.
Price a plan that has already been worked out
Take the plan optimise_cut_list returned, plus the catalogue variant each material is, and get the price: per board, subtotal, VAT and total in GBP. Boards that are not catalogue products (a plain size, or the customer's own board) come back with no price rather than a guess — say so plainly and offer a quote instead. The geometry is not recalculated, so the number always belongs to the plan you are showing.
Sheet sizes and mm/feet conversion
Standard UK sheet material sizes, and conversion between millimetres and feet/inches. Use before optimise_cut_list when the customer names a sheet ("8x4") rather than its mm.
Get your MCP into directories
A working endpoint is step one. Directory coverage is the coordinated launch across ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, the MCP Registry, and community indexes.

This server appears in the MCPBundles directory. Verify you operate it to take over the listing — name, description, logo, contact email, and skill content. We email a 6-digit code to a maintainer address your server publishes in /.well-known/security.txt or /.well-known/mcpbundles.json. Free, takes about a minute.
