List Products

Get the list of available products/services from the database. Use this FIRST to discover valid product names before searching. Returns canonical product names with counts per source (roadmap vs message_center). IMPORTANT: Product names must be exact. Common examples: "Microsoft Teams" (not "Teams"), "Exchange Online" (not "Exchange"), "SharePoint Online" (not "SharePoint"), "Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)" (not "Copilot"). Always call this tool first to get the correct names.

List Filters

Get available filter values from the database. Returns actual values for statuses, tags, categories, severities, and available deployment months. Use this to discover valid filter values before searching. NOTE: Some filters are source-specific. "status" applies to Roadmap only. "tags", "category", "severity", "isMajorChange" apply to Message Center only. "products", "dateRange", and "featured" apply to both sources.

Search

Search Microsoft 365 Roadmap and Message Center items with filters. Returns lightweight summaries — use fetch(id) to get full details including bodyContent, change history, and impacts. GOLDEN RULE: Use structured filters (products, months, status, etc.), NOT free-text queries. Free-text queries often return 0 results. Fetch

Fetch complete details for a specific item by ID, including change history. Use this AFTER search/list tools to get full details for items of interest. search/list tools return lightweight summaries (id, title, key metadata). List New Items

Get only NEW items (first published/created within the date range). Shortcut that uses createdDate for Roadmap and publishedDate for Message Center. Returns lightweight summaries — use fetch(id) for full details.

List Updated Items

Get only UPDATED items (modified but not new within the date range). Shortcut that uses modifiedDate > createdDate for Roadmap and lastUpdatedDate > publishedDate for Message Center. Returns lightweight summaries — use fetch(id) for full details.

List Change History

Get change history records from the change_history table. Shows what changed, previous values, new values, and change type (new/changed/removed).

Get Digest

Get a summary digest of new and updated Microsoft 365 items. Returns counts and item lists for both Roadmap and Message Center changes. Good starting point to see what's happening before drilling into specific items with search or fetch.

Get the data dictionary/schema for Roadmap items, Message Center items, or both. Returns field names, types, enums, and change detection logic. Use this to understand what fields are available in search/list/fetch results and what values are valid for each field.
