Look up details for any UK-registered vehicle using its registration number. Returns tax status, MOT status, make, colour, fuel type, emissions data, and registration history.

Data Model

• Vehicle — A UK-registered vehicle identified by registration number. Key fields: registrationNumber, taxStatus, taxDueDate, motStatus, motExpiryDate, make, colour, fuelType, engineCapacity, co2Emissions, yearOfManufacture, wheelplan, typeApproval, euroStatus.

Key Patterns

• Registration numbers are case-insensitive and spaces are ignored (e.g. "AB12 CDE" and "AB12CDE" both work).

Gotchas

• Not found: Unknown registrations return empty-hand / not-found style outcomes rather than vehicle payloads.
• Rate limit: Standard access is low-throughput—space out bulk lookups.
• Null fields: Some fields may be null depending on the vehicle type (e.g. motExpiryDate is null for vehicles exempt from MOT, revenueWeight is null for non-commercial vehicles).
• Historic vehicles: Very old vehicles may have minimal data (no MOT status, limited registration info).
