Start Session
Start a relaxation session with a guided intake conversation. USE THIS TOOL WHEN: - User mentions stress, anxiety, sleep issues, or wanting to relax - You know little or nothing specific about their situation yet If the user has already shared specifics (their goal PLUS a trigger, time of day, behavior, or what they've tried), prefer create_session_from_conversation instead — don't make them repeat themselves in the intake. If the user just wants to LISTEN RIGHT NOW to a standard topic (sleep
Intake Message
INTERNAL — one turn of the guided-intake widget's conversation. The intake widget calls this for each message the listener types. Do NOT call it from the ChatGPT conversation: use start_session (which opens the widget) or create_session_from_conversation instead. Args: session_id: The session ID from start_session message: The listener's message ("" requests the opening message)
Request Access
INTERNAL — the guided-intake widget's early-access panel submits here. Personalized session generation currently requires an account (coming soon). The widget collects either an early-access email (waitlisted) or an access code (unlocks this session). Do NOT call this from the ChatGPT conversation; the widget drives it. Args: session_id: The session ID email_or_code: What the listener entered in the access panel
Create Session From Conversation
Begin a personalized session from rich conversation context. USE THIS TOOL WHEN the conversation already tells you: - What they want help with (sleep, anxiety, stress, pain, focus...), AND - At least one or two specifics: a trigger, a time of day, a behavior, what they've tried, or what "better" would look like This does NOT write the script immediately. It opens a short intake conversation with a hypnotherapist in the widget, seeded with everything you pass — the listener won't be asked to
Start Session With Safety
Start a session with explicit safety screening first. Only use this if there are specific safety concerns that need formal screening (e.g., user mentions mental health conditions, trauma, etc.). For most users, start_session is preferred.
Submit Safety
Process safety screening responses. Args: session_id: The session ID from start_session responses: Dictionary mapping question IDs to boolean answers Returns: Safety status (GREEN/YELLOW/RED) and next steps
Submit Preferences
Submit user preferences for the relaxation session. Args: session_id: The session ID goal: Primary goal — one of sleep, anxiety, stress, overthinking, confidence, focus, motivation, comfort, relaxation (racing thoughts → overthinking; worry → anxiety; wired/overwhelmed → stress) goal_details: Specific details about the goal conversation_summary: Rich summary of the conversation - what the user shared about their situation, what they've tried, what resonat
Generate Script
Generate a personalized relaxation script based on user preferences. Only works after the guided intake conversation has completed for this session (the intake produces the preferences) and the session has account access. Do not call this to skip the intake. Args: session_id: The session ID Returns: Script overview, estimated duration, and full script for approval
Approve Script
Approve or request changes to the generated script. Args: session_id: The session ID approved: Whether the user approves the script feedback: If not approved, what changes to make Returns: Confirmation or regeneration
Script Status
Poll the status of an in-progress script generation for a session. The script.html widget calls this on an interval after it receives a "generating" state, until the status flips to "done", then renders the returned script. Generation runs ~30–90s through the ephemeral bridge. Returns: {status: "generating"} while the job is pending/running; the full script widget payload (same shape as generate_script) once done; or {status: "error", ...} if the generation failed.
Generate Audio
Generate the audio recording for a script the listener has APPROVED. Call this only after the listener explicitly approved the script by tapping Approve in the script widget (which calls approve_script). Rendering bills real credits, so the server refuses without that approval — do not call this on your own initiative. Args: session_id: The session ID Returns: Audio URL and player widget
Get Session Status
Get the current status of a session. Args: session_id: The session ID Returns: Current session state and available actions
Browse Library
Show the free library of prerecorded guided relaxation sessions. USE THIS TOOL WHEN: - The user wants a session RIGHT NOW on a standard topic — sleep, anxiety, stress, quick calm, overthinking, confidence, focus, morning motivation, physical comfort, or cravings — and hasn't asked for personalization - The user asks what's available, wants to browse, or says "just play me something" These are instant, free, professionally produced recordings (each available in a female and a male voice).
Play Library Session
Open one of the free prerecorded library sessions in the player, ready to play. USE THIS TOOL WHEN the user names (or clearly implies) one standard topic and wants to listen now. Examples: "play the deep sleep one" → session="02"; "I can't fall asleep, can you play me something" → session="02"; "something for anxiety, in a man's voice" → session="03", voice="male". Prefer this over the generation flow (create_session_from_conversation) when no personalization was asked for — this plays instant
