Search INTERNATIONAL / English-language academic literature across 百晓's pool of international indexes (fanned out, merged, de-duplicated by DOI/title). Returns citable paper metadata. For **Chinese-language works or Chinese authors, do NOT start here** — use `baixiao_corpus_search` / `baixiao_advanced_search` first (百晓's own databases have the Chinese coverage international indexes miss). Traverse a paper's citation graph for lit-review expansion. `direction`: "cited_by" (works that cite it) or "references" (works it cites). `paper_id`: a DOI (e.g. "DOI:10.x/y" / a bare DOI) or the `external_id` of a result from an earlier 百晓 search.

Baixiao Verify Reference

Look a citation up in ALL of 百晓's databases — the 127M-record metadata DB, the curated corpus, and the international index pool — and report what was found. Databases are tried in a language/type-aware order with early-exit (DOI lookup always runs first when a DOI is given). Pass `language` ("zh"/"en", else auto-detected) and `is_book=true` to steer routing. Complete a partial / messy reference into clean metadata. Give whatever you have (a rough title, "author year title", etc.) as `query`; this searches all of 百晓's databases and returns the best-matching work's full metadata (authors, year, venue, DOI, volume/ issue/pages when known) plus alternates. `year` helps disambiguate.

Baixiao Journal Fit

Recommend journals to submit a manuscript to, by topic — aggregated across all of 百晓's databases. Pass `keywords` you extract from the abstract. Ranks journals by how many topic-matching works they hold, enriched with tier / core-journal / impact from the metadata DB when known. `language`: 'zh'|'en'. `rounds` (>1) widens recall via deterministic keyword expansion.

Baixiao Find Reviewers

Suggest peer reviewers by topic — aggregated across all of 百晓's databases. Pass `keywords` from the manuscript. Ranks authors by how many topic-matching works they wrote. Pass `exclude_authors` to drop the manuscript's own authors. `rounds` (>1) widens recall.

Baixiao Advanced Search

Fielded search across all of 百晓's databases. Combine any fields (AND): `author` / `journal` / `publisher` / `year` are EXACT (case-insensitive) on the metadata DB; `year_from`..`year_to` is an inclusive publication period; `title` is fuzzy. Use for "papers by X in journal Y between 2018-2022", etc. Returns merged, de-duplicated works. For a result's full text, pass its `external_id` to `baixiao_get_pdf` (works when a public PDF exists).

Baixiao Verify References

Batch-verify a whole bibliography in one call — the fit for auditing a manuscript's reference list. `references` is a list of objects, each with any of: `title` (recommended), `year`, `journal`, `doi`, `language`, `is_book`. Each is looked up across all databases (same routing and same `verification_status` values as `baixiao_verify_reference`). Returns per-item results plus counts of `verified` / `partial_match` / `not_found` / `lookup_unavailable`. **`not_found` means “not in these databases

Baixiao Fetch Metadata Batch

Batch-complete many partial references into clean metadata in one call. `queries` is a list of rough reference strings; returns the best-matching work's metadata for each. Billed per query.

Baixiao My Kb Search

Search the calling user's OWN knowledge bases — self-built, team, and subscribed/purchased KBs (NOT the public corpus; use baixiao_corpus_search for that). Returns real passages from the user's private documents. Omit `collection_ids` to search all of their personal KBs; pass ids from baixiao_list_my_kbs to narrow down. Results are only ever drawn from KBs this key's owner is entitled to — never from other users' data.

Search 百晓's 政策文件 collection — central & local government policy texts (digital government, data governance, digital economy, ...). Free-text `query` and/or fielded filters: `author`, exact `year`, `year_from`..`year_to` period, `doc_type`. Use for official policy rather than scholarship. `author` in THIS collection is the issuing body / source column (政策法规处, 政策法规局, 《政策》杂志, 中共汕头市委政策研究室 …), NOT a person, and it matches the WHOLE field exactly — no partial or fuzzy match, so "政" finds nothing.
