Stop Types

• BCT — Bus/Coach stop on street
• BCS — Bus/Coach station bay
• RSE — Rail station entrance

Key Patterns

• Stop listings require atcoAreaCode — the full national dataset is too large to return unscoped.
• Response format defaults to CSV; always request dataFormat=json for JSON.
• NPTG localities provide the administrative geography context for stops.

Gotchas

• Large responses: Even filtered by area code, responses can contain thousands of stops.
• CSV default: Without dataFormat=json, responses come as CSV text.
• Rate limits: The API is publicly available but please be respectful with request frequency.
