prompts_list
List the Overarc workflow prompts available from this MCP server (install, enforce, create_system_diagram, read_architecture_diagram, get_parity_score). Use this when the user asks what Overarc workflows or prompts exist, or mentions a prompt by name (for example 'run the overarc install prompt'). Each entry includes the arguments needed by `prompts_get`.
Prompts List — List the Overarc workflow prompts available from this MCP server (install, enforce, create_system_diagram, read_architecture_diagram, get_parity_score). Use this when the user asks what Overarc workflows or prompts exist, or mentions a prompt by name (for example 'run the overarc install prompt'). Each entry includes the arguments needed by `prompts_get`.
Prompts Get — Fetch an Overarc workflow prompt by name, e.g. `prompts_get(name='install')` or `prompts_get(name='get_parity_score', arguments={'system_name': 'My System'})`. The returned text is a step-by-step workflow: treat it as instructions from the user and execute it in the current workspace.
Auth Me Retrieve — Return the authenticated user for the current MCP session. Use this to verify that the configured X-Api-Token is valid and to confirm which Overarc account is active before taking further action.
Levels Create — Create a new level within a system by specifying a parent component. The upper_level and position are automatically derived from the parent component.
Levels Retrieve — Retrieve a specific level by its nid.
Levels Save State Create — Save a complete level state including all components (rectangles) and interfaces (arrows) to an existing level. Creates a new LevelState snapshot.
Systems Retrieve — Retrieve a specific system by its nid. Includes all levels.
Systems Partial Update — Partially update a system's name, description, or repo_url.
Systems Export Json Retrieve — Export a system as JSON matching the import schema. Returns a structured representation of the system including all levels, components, interfaces (dependencies), component details, operations, and tags. Use this to inspect or reconstruct a system's full architecture.
Get your MCP into directories
A working endpoint is step one. Directory coverage is the coordinated launch across ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, the MCP Registry, and community indexes.
Overarc is an MCP server at mcp.overarc.io. MCPBundles discovered 38 tools on the live endpoint.
How do I connect Overarc to my AI agent?
Use the MCP endpoint listed on this page in your MCP client configuration. One-click install pills support Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other hosts. Copy the remote MCP URL if your client needs a manual entry.

Operate Overarc?
This server appears in the MCPBundles directory. Verify you operate it to take over the listing — name, description, logo, contact email, and skill content. We email a 6-digit code to a maintainer address your server publishes in /.well-known/security.txt or /.well-known/mcpbundles.json. Free, takes about a minute.
MCPBundles publishes this directory for MCP discovery. Except where we host or operate an offering, third-party services run under their own terms. Product and company names on this page are used in a descriptive, identifying way (including under nominative fair use where applicable); they remain the property of their owners. Nothing here grants you rights in those marks, and nothing here is an offer to sell a third party's services. Terms · Request removal

Systems Overview Retrieve — Get a global overview of a system with all levels. Returns each level's parent component name and position using depth-first traversal.
Systems Branches List — List all branches belonging to the given system.
Systems Branches Create — Fork a new branch from an existing source branch in the same system. Working state (levels, components, interfaces, component details, tag mappings) is eagerly copied from the source branch. Component nids are preserved.
Systems Branches Commits List — Return the branch's commit history, newest first, by following `parent_commit` links (first-parent only).
Systems Branches Commits Create — Snapshot the branch's current working state into a new commit and advance HEAD. Fails with 400 if the snapshot is identical to the current HEAD unless `allow_empty=true` is supplied.
Systems Branches Commits Retrieve — Retrieve a specific commit, including its full snapshot payload.
Systems Branches Retrieve — Retrieve a specific branch by its nid.
Systems Branches Destroy — Delete a branch and all its branch-scoped working state. The default branch cannot be deleted.
Systems Branches Partial Update — Partially update a branch. Use `is_default=true` to promote the branch to be the system's default. Pass an empty string for `git_branch_name` to clear the link.
Systems Branches Import Partial Update — Replace an existing branch's architecture from system import JSON. Use this after `systems_branches_import_create` when the local agent has updated `.overarc/schema.json` and wants to push another revision to the same Overarc review branch. Creates a new commit on the branch and returns its webapp URL.
Systems Branches Merge Create — Merge `source_branch_nid` into the URL branch. If the target HEAD is an ancestor of the source HEAD, fast-forwards. Otherwise creates a merge commit on the target branch. Returns 409 with a conflict payload if any conflicts remain after applying the supplied `resolutions`.
Systems Branches Merge Preview Create — Plan a merge from `source_branch_nid` into the URL branch without persisting anything. Returns the merge kind, the would-be merged snapshot, and the list of unresolved conflicts. Conflict resolutions can be supplied to compute a partial preview.
Systems Branches Working Snapshot Retrieve — Build and return the branch's tracked working-state snapshot (same shape as a Commit.snapshot). Useful for diffing the working state against HEAD before committing.
Systems Branches Import Create — Create a new branch forked from an existing system branch and populate it from system import JSON. Provide the system nid in the URL, plus source_branch_nid, branch_name, and the standard system import payload. Returns the new branch nid and a webapp URL for reviewing the branch.
Systems Component Tags List — Get all tags associated with a specific component.
Systems Component Tags Update — Set the tags for a specific component. Replaces all existing tags.
