Permanently delete a Pingdom monitoring check. THIS IS IRREVERSIBLE — all historical performance data, outage history, and alert records for this check will be permanently lost. Get the check_id from list_checks first. Consider pausing the check instead (use upsert_check with paused=true) if you want to preserve data.
Pingdom Fetch Performance
Get performance summary for a specific check over a time period. Returns sub-intervals with average response time (ms), and optionally uptime/downtime seconds per interval. Use resolution parameter to control granularity (hour/day/week). Ideal for graphing response time trends or identifying performance degradation windows.
Pingdom Get Alerts
Get the alert history for your Pingdom account. Returns alerts with username, checkid, time (UNIX timestamp), via (email/sms/etc), status (delivered/error), messageshort (up/down), messagefull (detailed description including downtime duration), and sentto (recipient). Filter by check, time range, channel, or delivery status. Use to audit notification delivery and review incident communication.
Pingdom Get Outages
Get the outage history (status changes) for a specific check. Returns a list of state transitions with status (up/down/unknown), timefrom, and timeto as UNIX timestamps. Use to identify when downtime occurred, how long it lasted, and correlate with incidents. Order desc for most recent outages first.
Pingdom Get Uptime Summary
Get average response time and uptime statistics for a check over a time period. Returns avgresponse (ms) and, with includeuptime=true, totalup/totaldown/totalunknown in seconds. Use bycountry or byprobe to break down response times by location. The go-to tool for SLA reporting and uptime percentage calculations.
Pingdom List Checks
Get monitoring checks from your Pingdom account. Pass check_id to retrieve a single check with full details (type, resolution, tags, alert policy, last response time, last test time, status). Omit check_id to list all checks with summary info (id, name, hostname, status, lastresponsetime, lasttesttime). Filter by tags if needed. Use the returned check IDs to fetch performance data, uptime stats, or outage history.
Pingdom Upsert Check
Create or update a Pingdom monitoring check. To create: provide name, host, and type (http/tcp/ping/dns/etc). To update: provide check_id plus any fields to change (name, resolution, paused, etc). Returns the check object with its ID. Use resolution to set check interval (1/5/15/30/60 min). Set paused=true to temporarily disable monitoring.
