Search Takes
Search the PMT take database. Returns raw JSON data — use this when you need to analyze, compare, or filter takes before presenting them. To show takes visually to the user, use display_takes instead (it can also accept the same query filters). If you search first and then want to highlight specific results, pass their IDs to display_takes.
Display Take Cards
Show PMT takes to the user as a rich interactive widget with styled cards, correctness stamps (Win/Loss/Push/Open), type badges, spiciness peppers, and links to pmtdb.com. The user will see visual take cards rendered inline. Two modes: (1) pass specific take IDs to display exact takes, or (2) pass query filters (speaker, category, correctness, etc.) to search and display in one step. Prefer this over search_takes when the user wants to SEE takes rather than just discuss them.
Display Speaker Cards
Show PMT speakers as rich visual hero cards with photos, W/L/P records, batting averages, and advanced stats (SHRP, BNKRL, STRK, ENTR). The user will see interactive speaker cards rendered inline. Use this to visually compare speakers or show a speaker profile.
Search Speakers
Search PMT speakers (hosts, producers, regulars, guests). Returns stats including batting average (AVG), slugging (SLG), total takes, and top category. To show speakers visually, use display_speakers instead.
Search Episodes
Search PMT episodes by title. Returns episode metadata with take counts.
Get Episode
Get full details for a specific PMT episode by slug, including its recap and all takes.
Get Take Of The Day
Get today's featured 'Take of the Day' — a historically relevant PMT take with current news context explaining why it matters today. Returns JSON data. To show it visually, pass the take ID to display_takes.
