For AI agents — MCPBundles Directory API
Recommended: Directory API v1 over HTTP for detail and anonymous invoke when eligible (not MCP JSON-RPC on the publisher URL; no user MCPBundles credentials on v1).
GET https://www.mcpbundles.com/api/directory/v1/servers/sourcemode-mcp-aaeb663b88
GET https://www.mcpbundles.com/api/directory/v1/servers/sourcemode-mcp-aaeb663b88?live=1 (optional live refresh)
GET https://www.mcpbundles.com/api/directory/v1/servers/sourcemode-mcp-aaeb663b88/tools/<tool> (one tool: schema + invoke.url)
POST https://www.mcpbundles.com/api/directory/v1/servers/sourcemode-mcp-aaeb663b88/tools/{tool}
POST body: flat JSON of tool argument names and values; not an arguments wrapper. Replace {tool} with a tool name from GET detail.
Restricted agent shell (ChatGPT Codex desktop, some IDE sandboxes):
Default command sandboxes often block outbound network. curl exit 6 or "Could not resolve host" for www.mcpbundles.com is usually sandbox DNS — not evidence this site is down.
Retry the same Directory API GET with sandbox_permissions "require_escalated" and a one-sentence justification on the shell tool (Codex on-request approval). Do not tell the user the site is unreachable from sandbox curl alone.
Example justification: Run the public MCPBundles Directory API search outside the command sandbox to complete the user's MCP server lookup.
If the agent has browser access (e.g. Codex @Browser): open https://www.mcpbundles.com/?q=<query> or stay on this page — no shell network needed. Use WebMCP search_mcp_servers then get_mcp_server (document.modelContext / page tools; refresh with fetchTools or getTools if a tool id is missing from the snapshot). Read-only directory search; same index as Directory API v1 GETs. Neither WebMCP nor Directory API v1 uses user MCPBundles credentials.
Without a browser: after escalated curl fails, use GET https://www.mcpbundles.com/?q=<query> with Accept: text/markdown for ranked results.
Hub MCP (connected session): discover_mcp_servers — same filter semantics as search_mcp_servers.

Activate SourceMode — Use when the user enters SourceMode or follows a rendered link whose destination belongs to a different site. The source must be a canonical absolute URL; resolve a source name or outbound destination before calling this tool. Source selection alone requests an opening content response: after activation, use a relevant declared publisher knowledge entry when available; otherwise make one host browsing or search request for source material, then finish with render_source_response. Read declared publisher knowledge — Read one first-party knowledge resource explicitly declared by the active publisher manifest. Use this before host browsing when a publisherGuidance knowledge entry is relevant to the user's question. Pass only the exact knowledge entry ID returned by activation; this tool does not accept URLs and is not general search. Its returned evidence is active-source evidence for render_source_response. After reading it, render the answer immediately without browsing the resource URL separately and witho
Select measured SourceMode visual identity — Exception-only visual correction. Activation already applies deterministic candidates. Use this tool only when the attached screenshot clearly contradicts the selected masthead or mark, or when the user explicitly requests a branding correction. Candidate IDs are the only permitted choices; never invent colors, URLs, or styling. Skip this tool when the recommendation is credible.
Answer a publisher conversation — The immediate, retrieval-free path for publisher-declared small talk. Use this whenever the user's utterance exactly or plainly matches a conversation.smallTalk trigger from publisherGuidance. Make this single call without browsing, reasoning over source evidence, composing claims, inventing a title, or generating suggestedActions. The server supplies the compact publisher-authored answer, full source visual identity, and any publisher-authored follow-ups. Always include recoverySource so missin
Render a SourceMode scope boundary — Use immediately without browsing when a question clearly falls outside material the active source publishes. Publisher-declared small talk uses render_publisher_conversation instead. Always include recoverySource for the active canonical source so the server can reconstruct missing state without exposing an error. If factual relevance is uncertain, perform at most one site-restricted lookup before using this tool. This keeps SourceMode active. This is a terminal presentation tool: after it succe
