Find football competitions (leagues, cups, international tournaments) by name or country. Returns competition IDs (comp_…) needed by get_standings, get_competition and find_matches. Use this first whenever the user names a league or cup, e.g. 'Premier League', 'La Liga', 'Champions League'.
Search competitions — Find football competitions (leagues, cups, international tournaments) by name or country. Returns competition IDs (comp_…) needed by get_standings, get_competition and find_matches. Use this first whenever the user names a league or cup, e.g. 'Premier League', 'La Liga', 'Champions League'.
Get competition — Details for one competition plus its seasons (newest first), including which season is current. Use it to find the season_id for a past season, e.g. '2022/23 Premier League'. For group-stage tournaments it also lists the groups of the chosen season (default: current).
Get league table — League table (standings) for a competition season, shown as an interactive table. Defaults to the current season. For group-stage tournaments (World Cup, EURO) every group is returned; pass `group` for one. Knockout-only cups have no table.
Search teams — Find football clubs or national teams by name. Returns team IDs (tm_…) needed by get_team, find_matches and other tools. Use this whenever the user names a team.
Get team — A team's profile, its season record in its league (position, points, form) and who is currently injured or suspended. Season defaults to the current season of the team's main league.
Team squad — A team's full squad: every player with position, shirt number, age, nationality, height, preferred foot, market value and contract end date, goalkeepers first.
Team's league history — Every competition and season in which a team has a league table (newest first), with the season IDs. Use it for a team's past league finishes: pick a season here, then call get_standings or get_team with it.
Search players — Find football players by name (accent-insensitive: 'odegaard' finds 'Ødegaard'). Returns player IDs (pl_…) needed by get_player and get_player_heatmap. Use this whenever the user names a player.

Operate TheStatsAPI?
This server appears in the MCPBundles directory. Verify you operate it to take over the listing — name, description, logo, contact email, and skill content. We email a 6-digit code to a maintainer address your server publishes in /.well-known/security.txt or /.well-known/mcpbundles.json. Free, takes about a minute.
MCPBundles publishes this directory for MCP discovery. Except where we host or operate an offering, third-party services run under their own terms. Product and company names on this page are used in a descriptive, identifying way (including under nominative fair use where applicable); they remain the property of their owners. Nothing here grants you rights in those marks, and nothing here is an offer to sell a third party's services. Terms · Request removal
Get player — A player's profile, season statistics (appearances, goals, assists, rating, shooting, passing, defending, discipline) and any current injury or suspension. Season defaults to the current season of the player's club league; pass season_id and/or competition_id for others (e.g. Champions League stats). Set include_past_injuries for the player's injury and suspension history.
Player heatmap — Where on the pitch a player touched the ball, drawn as a heatmap. Pass match_id for one match; otherwise it covers a whole season in one competition (defaults to the current season of the player's club league).
Find matches — List football matches (fixtures, results, live games) as a scoreboard. Filter by date, competition, team, status or matchday. With no date it defaults to today, or for a team/competition to the 7 days either side of today. Next fixtures: team_id + status 'scheduled'. Recent results: team_id + status 'finished'. Live now: status 'live'. Pass the user's utc_offset so 'today' means their today. Prefer filtering by competition: a whole day worldwide can be hundreds of matches.
Get match — Everything about one match as a match card: score, live minute, goals and cards, key stats (possession, xG, shots, corners…), venue and referee. Works for upcoming, live and finished matches; upcoming matches include the predicted or confirmed lineups. Get match IDs from find_matches.
Shot map — Every shot in a match drawn on the pitch, sized by expected goals (xG), with xG totals per team and the best chances. Pass player_id to show one player's shots. Only for matches that have been played. Some matches have shot locations but no xG (xg_quality 'none'): then xG fields are null, not zero.
Match player ratings — Per-player statistics for one match: rating, minutes, goals, assists, shots, xG, xA, passes, tackles, duels, saves and cards, shown as player ratings by team. Works live (running totals) and after full time. Use it for 'who was the best player', 'how did X play' or comparing players in a game. Players who did not play are left out.
Match referee — The referee assigned to a match, with career totals (games, yellow cards, red cards) and cards per game. Useful before a match for 'is this referee strict?'.
Data coverage — Which competitions and seasons TheStatsAPI has data for, and how complete it is (fixtures, team stats, xG, lineups, player stats, standings). With competition_id: a season-by-season breakdown. With search or data_type: matching competitions. With neither: overall totals. Use it for 'do you have data for X?' or 'which leagues have xG?'.
TheStatsAPI account — Return the TheStatsAPI account represented by this request's authenticated credentials. The opaque id is unique within this app and remains unchanged across token refresh, reconnection, and display-metadata changes.
